Commodore 64 Emulator Super Schack (198?)

SUPER SCHACK is a Swedish chess game from an unknown author. The chess board is one of the nicest seen on the Commodore 64. The game plays very smoothly and has an opening library.

What spoils the game is the tendency to quite often sacrifice a Knight for a pawn in the early stages of the game, which has caused the program to lose games needlessly after some hard Middle and Endgame play. Apart from this, the program is fun to play and it has an interesting game style. It is a pity that the author is unknown.

The game is easy to use. Function key F4 starts a new game. SHIFT pus > increases the game Level, SHIFT plus < decreases the game Level.

Estimated rating for SUPER SCHACK is 1100 - 1200 ELO (1300 - 1400 USCF).

The Spacious-Mind Active game results (shown above) are from games played with a Commodore 64 or 128. Game Software was loaded from a PC into a Commodore 64/128 using C64TPC. C64TPC connects to the Commodore 64/128 via the Disk Drive Port and links to the PC with a Serial Cable. Playing SUPER SCHACK with an Emulator should play exactly the same as using a Commodore 64 or 128.
