Very little is known about the Company WESTRAK. Believed to be out of Hong Kong, they were briefly in the chess computer market in the early 1980’s. Interestingly the companies who sold similar or identical products to WESTRAK,  were Hanimex and Conic who a short time later as in the case of Hanimex, started selling products manufactured White & Allcock who founded CXG Newcrest Technology Limited in 1981. It is possible, especially since it is unlikely that there were too many companies at that time with the know how to manufacture chess computers, that wherever WESTRAK chess computers were made in Hong Kong, was also the birthplace manufacturing location for White & Allcock/Newcrest Technology Limited.
